Participation in the 61st DPI/NGOs Conference, 3rd
– 5th Sep. 2008
The annual conference for NGOs associated with United
Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) was held
in UNESCO HQ under the slogan “Reaffirming Human Rights
for All: The Universal declaration at 60”.
The three days conference discussed many issues through
round tables sessions which addressed the issues of
Upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
Overcoming Discrimination to Realize Human Rights and
Dignity for All; Human Rights and Human Security; Human
Rights Education and Learning as a Way of Life; and
Addressing Gross Human Rights Violations: Prevention and
Accountability.
The number of participants registered to attend the
conference was 1,399 who came from (74) countries. Mr.
Mohamed Elbushra – Finance & Admin Manager - represented
JASMAR in this event.
