conflict, the second one
(2006 -2011) coincided with transitional period of the
CPA. The context of this strategy (2006-2011) is marred
by Global economic constraints, regional popular
uprisings and national political uncertainty.
Sudan has already divided into two following the right
to self determination for the Southerners.
JASMAR has developed its
vision to Sudanese communities enjoy peace, safety,
security and sustainable livelihood. The mission has
been broadened to contain the human security concerns.
JASMAR has retained its old core values and guiding
principles.
Review of the previous
strategy has reflected JASMAR capacity development and
excellence in program performance.
The workshop has agreed
on JASMAR to become a lead human security organization
and a resource for initiation of cross-line/cross-border
human security programs; to continue addressing personal
human security programs such as MA, DDR, SALW control,
CCM and works towards alleviating poverty and
preventing HIV/AIDS spread; to ensure that
disadvantaged groups including PWDs are socially and
economically integrated and empowered as well as
standing ready to help emergency affected communities
through preparedness and first aid response.
JASMAR should retain and
widen partnerships as well as consolidate its
performance in the existing locations of Blue Nile,
South Kordofan, Darfur and East Sudan States.
JASMAR thanks all the
participants (from the government, UNDP, UNICEF, UNMAO,
MAG, DCA, sisters NNGOs and media) who have enriched the
workshop through their valuable participation. |
